The purpose of this blog is to maintain contact with my friends and family while I'm in Austria. Since I am absolutely terrible with keeping up with people and writing individual e-mails everyone can just go to one place to see my pictures and find out whats going on!

I'm enjoying the adventure of life God has put before me. I'm a red head from North Carolina who got sent to Southern California by divine detour. I'm a little more in love with an amazing man named David every day. I hope you enjoy my stories and musings!

Carpenter File 3: The Massive Hike

One of my top five reasons for loving Austria has to be the incredible and breathtaking views from hiking! This past Sunday my Austrian family and I went trekking up about 6,000 feet to see the most incredible view I've ever witnessed. I would give anything if all my brothers (that included Drew & Dan) could have been with me because I know how much you guys would have loved it! We stopped in a little mountain farm on the way up to have a picnic. It looked just like what I would picture the cabin of Heidi's grandfather would have looked like. My host mom, Frau Visintin and her son, his wife, and their two children, Lars and Emma took my roommate Kelsey and I up the mountain. My host mom was hiking in front and had to keep slowing down so the rest of us could keep up. Please know my host mom is in her mid 60's!!! She is one of the coolest people I've ever meet, despite the difficult language barrier we have since her English is "ein bischen" or very little. But my Germans not any better so it makes for some very confusing and hilarious communication!!! Anyway, the hike was incredible and I hope you enjoy the pictures. Oh yea and if you're wondering why there are gummies in the picture, my host family brought them for the kids and gave some for us. I mean if you have to pick a place to eat gummie bears....
